Celebrating 84 Rooms, A New Chalet & Its Founder In The Swiss Alps
An Alpine Summer Soirée at Le Chalet Lion Rouge.
Picture a Swiss summer barbecue and one thinks of dried meats, potato salad, and beer. But a simple BBQ wouldn’t match the weight of the week’s many milestones.
The cause for a stunning celebration was the culmination of our founder’s 40th birthday (1984), the 1st anniversary of our first 84 Club Chalet, Le Lion Rouge, and the new opening of our second property in the neighboring town, Le Chalet Saanen, a traditional village farmhouse. 84 Rooms has also been operating for 13 years now, another honorable milestone.
So what was served at the 84 Rooms Club Chalet on top of the picturesque village of Rougemont for 100 people?
The London-based head chef Erica Schwed and her team (Taren, Lizzie, Paolo) worked with 84 Rooms team to envision a local and seasonal menu brimming with anchovy-buttered melt-in-your-mouth rib-eye, grilled courgettes and their flowers, mountain cheeses, Italian fregola with slow roasted tomatoes, olive oil cake with local honey and stone fruits from the Swiss farms. Not complete without Aigle Valley wine from only an hour's drive away and perhaps some schnaps to kick off the dancing.
Lest we forget the fitting theme - Alpine Cowboy. Guests donned Stetson hats, fringe, leather, bolo necklaces, and troves of denim, with boots made for partying until the wee hours.
While large parties will only happen under the 84 Room team eye, perhaps you’ll snag an invite to a future one.
You can book both properties here.
