Lake Lucerne, Switzerland
Villa Honegg
Like something out of a fairytale, Villa Honegg is all about the spectacular setting: it stands prettily on the majestic Burgenstock and soars over the brilliant turquoise waters of Lake Lucerne. A five-star superior hotel, it was originally built in 1905 in the Art Nouveau-style and is easy to spot on the skyline thanks to its pretty cream palette and pale blue shutters.
hotel Guide
Facilities
- Reopened in 2011, Villa Honegg now has 25 rooms and suites with phenomenal views — our favourites are the corner rooms which have balconies on two sides with 180 degree views. Each one is the last word in a particular kind of opulence: extravagant headboards, vast baths and plenty of gilt mirrors. Its terrace overlooking the lake and mountains is simply breathtaking.
- 20-seater in-house cinema.
Wellness & Spa
- The hotel offers incredible spa facilities. There is an indoor pool serenaded by underwater music, a Finnish sauna and steam bath, plus an especially beautiful outdoor infinity pool with views over the lake.
- Their gym is equipped with high-end state-of-the-art Technogym machines.
Wine & Dine
- The Villa’s wood-panelled restaurant is just as much of a draw, with 14 Gault Millau points to its name and produce sourced from farmers in surrounding meadows and the hotel’s own herb garden. In particular, we love that breakfast is served until 2pm, so you can be as leisurely in your wake-up as you like. Expect the highest level of service at every turn.
Dresscode
- Smart casual.
Budget
- Rates start at CHF 600 per night, including à la carte breakfast, fruits, tea, coffee as well as soft drinks from the minibar.
