Parkhotel Mondschein
Bolzano is one of the loveliest Alpine cities. While it is small and navigable, it punches well above its weight when it comes to culture and creativity. With roots in the Middle Ages, it is filled with lively piazzas and Art Nouveau architectural details—such as the balconies you will find at Parkhotel Mondschein. An urban oasis with an ochre, ivy-camouflaged facade, it is the ideal base for exploring this creative city, which has roots stretching back to the Middle Ages and a simple, infectious lifestyle. There are fantastic South Tyrolean restaurants, myriad vineyards and lakes to explore, as well as the Dolomites on your doorstep.
Facilities
- Inside, ancient stone stairs lead to wide terrazzo corridors and 72 bedrooms and 10 suites with high stucco ceilings—our favorites are the Grand Suites, which have handsome bathtubs in the spacious bedrooms and perfectly framed views of the mountains, which burn pink at sunset.
Wellness & Spa
- The hotel also encourages its guests to move and meditate with yoga workshops and retreats in its Arise Studio; plus, there is a smart gym and an aspen wood sauna for post-workout sweats.
Cultural Events
- The Mondschein is a hub for cultural events in Bolzano, often hosting talks on the art of living and tastings with local winemakers.
Wine & Dine
- After a leisurely breakfast, stroll around the old town or have a coffee on Piazza Vittoria, soaking up the city’s idiosyncratic charm that harks back to bygone days. You will want to make it back to the Mondschein in time for tea and its homemade cakes and to catch some rays in the park on one of its loungers, with an iced coffee or cold beer from the kiosk. Later, the action heads to the Luna Bar, a hotspot for locals and guests where expertly-made martinis and South Tyrolean natural wines are on the menu.
